About Team Toubkal
Team Toubkal began in 2023 as a sister company of Team Kilimanjaro. Team Kilimanjaro has assisted more than 12,000 trekkers over 20 years to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Our founder John, decided to bring his expertise to Toubkal after hearing from a past TK climber that they were not able to summit Toubkal when they booked with a local operator, due to poor acclimatisation.

John, Founder
John has led various expeditions throughout the world. Complementary to his role with TK he served as a mountain safety consultant to Kilimanjaro National Park and was responsible for determining the cause of the tragic accident of 4th January 2006 which resulted in the Western Breach assault route being closed.
He holds the verified British speed record for Kilimanjaro, has created a completely new route on the north side of Kilimanjaro that ascends the Credner Glacier and traverses the Crater, and has advised the National Parks authorities on environmental impact reduction.
You will be collected from your Riad in Marrakesh at 0800 and transferred through the foothills of the High Atlas β passing traditional Berber market towns and the spectacular Moulay Brahim gorge β to the village of Imlil (1,740m). Here you will meet your mountain guide, who will brief you on the days ahead and check your equipment. Rental gear is available in Imlil village centre if required.
Starting your day early in Marrakech, you'll wind your way up through the Moulay Brahim Gorge and the upper valleys, taking in the stunning scenery along the way. As you arrive at the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, you'll meet up with your Berber muleteer crew who will accompany you on your trek.
